It is safe to assume that an aggressor would be wearing some type of collared garment. Sometimes this is just a t-shirt. But, the student should assess every factor. A t-shirt rips and tears very easily. An overcoat or hoodie would not. Adults and kids should also learn to assess the aggressor’s body type and size relative to their own. This will also have an impact on some moves. Adults and kids should have a few reliable techniques at the ready, in case their favoured technique is not viable.

Breaking Techniques

In an emergency situation, it might be necessary to use breaking techniques. These target the joints of the aggressor.
